The Schroon Lake Airstrip was originally constructed in the 1960s for use during the construction of the Adirondack Northway. In 2016, the airstrip underwent a million dollar resurfacing and safety upgrade.
Today, the Schroon Lake Airstrip is a public-use airstrip located two nautical miles north of the central business district of Schroon Lake. It is owned by the Town of Schroon Lake
