Recyclables accepted at the Transfer Station include glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard. As recycling has become an increasing challenge, we are transitioning back to the Essex County recycling program. This program accepts SEPARATED cleaned metal containers, cleaned #1 plastic containers, cleaned #2 plastic containers, cleaned glass containers, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, and flattened corrugated cardboard. Please note this transition may create short term delays in what can be accepted on a given day as containers become full and swap out schedules are defined. With higher volume increases, the challenge is matching container swap outs with demand. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through this process.
