When the meeting was called to order, Time Warner representative John Mucha and Pat Johnson from the Public Service Commission were present to discuss the August 2008 Time Warner contract. Pat Johnson stated that line extension - Section 12 of the contract – must include 20 homes per area mile – 250 ft. from the main line. Section 13 stated that public educational access would cost $1500 to buy the equipment. Currently we have no franchise fee. The franchise expires next August. At the end of 2006 we had 630 cable customers, and at the end of 2007 we had 851 customers. It was stated that Time Warner is the prominent video provider in New York State. Time Warner serves 179 municipalities. Kay Belles ask that the Town Board take a large part of Schroon Lake and do a review before the contract is renewed. The town needs to look at expanding. It was stated that we need to look for an alternate vender. It was recommended that we join with other municipalities and contact government representatives to get Time Warner to provide the internet service that we need. Roger suggested comparing E-911 maps with Time Warner mapping areas. It was a very informational meeting which was adjourned at 8:03 PM.
