Special Town Board Meeting held March 27, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at the Town Hall,

 Schroon Lake N.Y.

Councilpersons:   Roger Friedman, Michael Marnell, Clara Phibbs and Mark Whitney

6:00 P.M.  PUBLIC HEARING

     The Public Hearing was called to order at 6:02 P.M., Councilwoman Phibbs moved a resolution to dispense with the reading of the Public Hearing Notice, seconded by Councilman Friedman carried.

     The purpose of the hearing was an overview of the CDBG program and an opportunity to discuss and comment on the overall community needs.  Vic Putman was present and explained to the Board that they had until April 21, 2008 to submit there application.  An Income Survey Task was sent out to all the Sewer District and they must receive 70% of the surveys back in order to process, 51% would have to be low to moderate income to apply for a grant.  The Grant amounts are as follows: Public Facility $600,000; Housing Development $400,000; Economic Development $600,000 - one application per year.  The Board discussed the possibility of using the money to improve the Sewer Lines and fix pipes.  Supervisor Moses declared the Public Hearing closed at 6:51 P.M.
