Special Town Board Meeting held February 21, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. in the Town Hall,

Schroon Lake, N.Y.

 

Present:

 

Supervisor: Catherine L. Moses

 

Councilpersons: Roger Friedman, Michael Marnell, Clara Phibbs and Mark Whitney

 

Town Clerk: Patricia Savarie

 

6:00 P.M. – PUBLIC HEARING

 

  The Public Hearing was called to order at 6:03 P.M. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to

 

consider amending the local law authorizing Senior Citizens exemption to increase the maximum

 

income eligibility level from $22,000 to $25,000 as permitted. It was voted to be brought for a

 

Public Hearing on February 21, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. in the Town Hall, Schroon Lake N.Y.and was

 

published in the Post Star Feb. 13, 2008. Councilwoman Phibbs moved a resolution to dispense

 

with the reading of the Public Hearing Notice, seconded by Councilman Friedman; carried.

 

There were some public comments at the hearing. Supervisor Moses declared the hearing closed

 

at 6:30 P.M.

 

6:30 P.M. SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

 

  The meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. Councilman Friedman moved a resolution to

 

accept the proposed increase in the income eligibility ceiling for Real Property Tax Exemption to

 

persons 65 years of age or older pursuant to Real Property Tax Law section 467 from $22,000. to

 

$25,000., seconded by Councilman Whitney; carried.

 

  Councilwoman Phibbs moved a resolution to declare surplus on a 1973 Riener Generator and a

 

1973 Kohler Generator and to have them advertised, seconded by Councilman Friedman; carried.

 

  Councilwoman Phibbs made a motion to adjourn at 7:15 P.M., seconded by Councilman

 

Marnell; carried.
